Description
1996 Olympic Yachting Cauldron along the river walk in Savannah. This cauldron was lit by the original Olympic flame from Mt. Olympus at the opening ceremonies on July 20, 1996, and burned throughout the Centennial Olympic Games in Savannah, site of the Olympic Yachting events. Atlanta hosted the 1996 Olympic Games but because Atlanta is landlocked, the Olympic sailing events were held in Savannah.

Mike Worley replied:
It is. I wasn't aware of it until we visited there. My wife, who was one of the media coordinators for the USA teams, knew about it but she was based in Atlanta and hadn't seen it either. (She was about a block away when the bomb went off.)
