Description
The Boise County Courthouse in Idaho City, Idaho was built in 1871 as a general store. It was purchased by the county for use as a courthouse in 1909 and is still the county's courthouse today, even with its century and a half bricks and board sidewalk. Idaho City was founded as a gold rush town in 1862. Its 1864 population of 7000 made it the largest city in the northwest, larger than Portland or Seattle. It is home to 524 residents today.
